About Me

Nilesh has been writing short stories, poems and assorted stuff for a long while, all of which stayed in back room closets gathering dust, while he got busy with his career and family. Eventually in 2008 he did manage to complete his first novel, 'The Second Hand' which was based on his ancestral home town in Bundelkhand province, placing it in the backdrop of the 1992 Babri masjid riots. It was published by Cedar Books in September 2009 – his first step in the publishing world. More than the commercial success (or the lack of it), Nilesh was encouraged by the feedback from friends and well-wishers and so the writing and the learning continued. Nilesh’s second book, 'No Man’s Land' - about a Gurgaon family struggling with sudden wealth and greed with echoes of some characters from the Mahabharata - was released in November 2013 by Fingerprint Publishing.

Nilesh holds a degree in computer engineering from Lucknow University and another in management from IIM-Calcutta. He has been working in the financial sector for fourteen years now and is currently employed at a multilateral institution in New Delhi. He lives with his wife and son in the capital and apart from writing enjoys travelling and watching movies and plays.
